Gas Prices Continue to Fall

Gas Prices Continue to Fall

When gasoline prices were climbing like a rocket, we touched on the topic several times on this site, wondering how the rising prices were affecting you and your driving and spending habits.

Now, prices for gas are dropping like a rock, tumbling to prices of a year ago. There are even some places reportedly having gas wars, with prices reported in some areas below $2.00 a gallon!

The declines come as hurricane season winds down and oil prices drop over concerns that a prolonged economic slump would curb demand for energy.

Have you seen any of these crazy (below $2.00) prices anywhere? We'd love to hear about it. And tell us what you think is really causing prices to drop so dramatically all of a sudden after peaking at over $4.00 a gallon just a few months ago. i think its about time the government realizes this situation is in dier need of help and that the gas going down is just one of those many things that need to be lowered. The economy has already taken to big of hit though, I believe we are in a crisis situation, these drops in prices were much needed, but if you look at history of gas prices, are we realy saving anything after shelling out 3.00 to 4.25 a gallon for a year+? Families could barely afford to feed their families let alone pay an increase in gas, heat, food, rent… among other nesessities. What's wrong with this picture? The economy and the people living in it has been stressed for money and crying out for help for years while the government turns their back on our hungry and homeless, poor families and childrens failing schools. Don't they know the children are our future and the only ones capabe of forecomming our hardships with the proper education?? So the government goes to other contries to feed the poor, clothe the children, shelter the homeless, educate the children, provide jobs for the jobless, we should be focused on our economy, children, families, hardshps, and barriers first, then help others when we ourselves are strong.
